Editorial Policy

WCRC Leaders reports on companies, brands, leadership and the institutions that shape business and society. This page sets out how that reporting is produced and what readers are entitled to expect of it.

Who publishes this

WCRC Leaders is published by WCRC, the World Centre for Research & Consulting. Research and ranking work is carried out by the WCRC Intelligence Unit; reporting and analysis are produced by the WCRC Leaders editorial desk and named contributors.

The two functions are described separately throughout the site because they answer different questions. Research establishes what is measurable. Reporting interprets it.

Sourcing and verification

Factual claims are checked against the primary source before publication. Where a figure originates with another organisation, that organisation is named and linked, and the figure is dated.

Reporting published by others is attributed to the publication that produced it, not presented as our own. Where a number is reported rather than officially disclosed, the article says so.

  • Statistics, financial results and official filings are cited to the issuing body.
  • Allegations made by one party about another are reported as allegations, with the response of the party named wherever one has been given.
  • Forward-looking assessments are identified as interpretation, not as announcements of fact.
  • An article that relies on external figures carries an evidence list naming each source.

Editorial independence

Recognition programmes, events and commercial partnerships do not determine coverage. Inclusion in a WCRC recognition programme is not a condition of being written about, and it does not protect an organisation from scrutiny.

Commercial content is produced separately and labelled. It is never presented as independent reporting.

Artificial intelligence

AI tools may be used in production — for research assistance, structuring and sub-editing. They are not a substitute for verification, and no article is published without a person taking responsibility for its accuracy.

Where an image is generated or materially altered rather than photographed, the article says so.

Right of reply

An organisation or individual who is the subject of critical reporting is given the opportunity to respond, and the response is carried in the article.

If a subject declines to comment, or does not respond within a reasonable period, the article records that.

Corrections

Errors are corrected promptly and visibly. The corrections policy sets out how to report one and how corrections are recorded.
